With a circular driveway in the front, you may think you’ve pulled up at Versailles — until you notice the magnificent ocean view. Located in the waterfront town of Manalapan, on the inlet just north of Boynton Beach, the sprawling home is a mix of French villa inspiration and the Florida tropics.

Surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, Florida landscape is the inspiration for many a designer and customer wanting to bring the outdoors into their home. However, for many years, this has meant the tired, generic look of palm trees and pineapples.

For the redesign of the penthouse kitchen at Ocean Royale Condo in Juno Beach, Lori Schlegel, president and owner of LS Interiors Group, made sure there were no seashells in sight.

“I like to think outside the box. When people say ‘Florida’ to me, i typically don’t go to rattan or that whole pineapple theme,” she says.

Instead, in three months she created a spa-like environment of white, turquoise, and chocolate that complements the home’s stunning ocean panoramic view.

Garnering the envy of passersby driving down A1A or boaters enjoying a sunny day, the crescent-shaped building known as One Thousand Ocean boasts a view of the Intracoastal, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Boca Raton Inlet – all visible from 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows for residents to enjoy the beauty and natural light seeping into their palace. There’s no such thing as a bad view at the two-acre waterfront property — so much so that scenes from the movie “Parker” were filmed there.
